I managed to get most of stuff recovered from my poor external laptop HDD using a data recovery program. Had to try a few of them before I found one that could do it successfully. I don't get frus when my HDDs crash on me, cos I know that they are not meant to be uncrashable... and knowing me, I hardly defrag my HDD, but I really hate losing all those data that was in them. I'm sure anyone who crashed their HDD, lost their HP or PDAs would understand how I feel.
It was a tough learning curve but hey, every cloud has a silver lining right? At least I got my data back and learnt how to recover my data from a dead HDD. Now if only I can find a way to get rm300 for a new HDD...
